Self-Help classes will teach you the basic principles and how to “jumper cable” yourself. It is a practical, hands-on class for everyday living.
Learning Jin Shin Jyutsu engages one in self study; self-help. It is easy to learn and can help develop a fresh and positive outlook on life. Through the reawakening of one’s awareness and understanding of NOW KNOW MYSELF, we recognize the wisdom of the body and learn to interpret the messages provided and utilize them to restore balance.
No prerequisite for any of these classes! It is not necessary to take them in order, although Book 1 lays the foundation. You may take the whole series or sit in on any one you choose. Jin Shin Jyutsu is learned through repetition and experience. Therefore, these classes can be repeated for added benefit.

Book 1: This class covers Mary Burmeister’s Self-Help Book 1. This book is complete in itself and is meant for daily use. We will cover the fundamental principles and Physio-Philosophy, learn about “attitudes” and how they are the cause for all disharmony, as well as the power of holding fingers, basic flow sequences, “quickies”, and more! There will be ample hands on time. Anyone can take this class, no prerequisite.
Book 2: This class covers Mary Burmeister’s Self-Help Book 2. We find and learn about each of the 26 areas called “Safety Energy Locks” which are the keys to unlocking our true selves, learn more “quickies”, and have plenty of hands on time. No prerequisite.
Book 3: This class covers Mary Burmeister’s Self-Help Book 3: We will go deeper into the power of fingers and toes, learn the finger poses Jiro Murai used in his mountain cabin that became the beginning of Jin Shin Jyutsu, and more. There will be plenty of hands on time. No prerequisite.
Jin Shin Jyutsu has a wonderful ease. It’s effectiveness is not dependent on expertise, and is therefore accessible by novices and long time practitioners alike. Best of all, you can do it anywhere: couch, car, bed, at the movies, in meetings- even while jogging! No special equipment, clothing, or environment is needed. By simply holding areas of the body you can increase daily energy levels, take care of ordinary aches and pains, improve sleep and digestion, lower stress, and improve overall well-being.
